Moving in and out of your new shared home

Welcome to the Just Like Home family - you get the keys and can move in with your personal stuff
You must register your new address with the Danish Civil Registration Office (Folkeregistret) within 5 days of moving in
The simple steps of moving in
Once you receive notification from us that a student housing bedroom is available, the process is smooth and straightforward. Simply confirm that you want it, and we'll guide you safely through each step. Your new chapter begins with ease...
In summary:
You send us an email stating that you want to move out to the end of a month. Our notice term is current month + one month
We have a move-out inspection session no later than 14 days before the lease end
You hand over the keys 10 days before lease end
We say goodbye and thank you for this time - and good luck in the future - we and your housemates will miss you!
You will get your deposit back approx. 4-5 weeks after lease end (minus painting and damage repairs - if any)**
The simple steps of moving out
We understand that life is full of changes, so we strive to be as flexible as possible. When you're ready to take the next step and move on, simply let us know in writing via our approved email address that you wish to terminate your rental agreement. We're here to support you every step of the way.
In summary:
** We know it's a long time, but we need time to review supplier invoices for work performed and deduct it from your deposit in case we need to paint or make any repairs. We want to double-check that everything has been done by the book.
Moving inspection
The moving inspection, also known as a move-in and move-out report, is a collaborative process between Just Like Home and you to assess the student housing bedroom's condition. Together, we document with photos and descriptions any damages or deficiencies before or after your stay. The report will conclude if anything needs fixing before moving in and out.
By comparing our findings with the photos and documentation from your move-in inspection report, we ensure a fair and transparent assessment. This process helps make your move-out experience as smooth and hassle-free as possible!
We'll schedule an inspection meeting no later than 14 days before your move-out date. During this meeting, we'll assess the condition of the woodwork, panels, walls, ceilings, and floors, as well the state of the furniture in your bedroom.
The goal? To ensure clarity and prevent any disagreements about the student housing bedroom's state, making your move as seamless and stress-free as possible.
Fair and objective end settlement
Agree on bedrooms current state
Aim is to match expectations

To maintain the highest standards, we exclusively work with our preferred suppliers for any paintwork, maintenance, or repairs. This ensures consistent quality we can proudly stand behind, guaranteeing that the next housemate will enjoy the room just as much as you did when you first moved in. Your satisfaction and theirs is our top priority.
We care about quality
Ex. 1: As good as when moving in
All walls, ceilings, floors, woodwork, and panels and furniture are undamaged (normal signs of wear, but without major marks or scratches). This means that the next housemate can move in without us having to pay any costs associated with this. You will get back your entire deposit.
Ex. 2: Re-paint needed
Walls, ceilings, floors, woodwork, and panels have marks and scratches and therefore need to be painted. Furniture is undamaged (normal signs of wear, but without major marks or scratches). Here, painting is the only expense deducted from your deposit.
We allow normal signs of wear and tear, but if there are major marks or scratches on walls, ceilings, floors, woodwork, panels, or furniture, the amount will be determined on case-by-case basis, based on fair market prices for the repair/replacement.
Ex. 3: Damage to bedroom interior
We want to be as transparent as possible
- so here are a few settlement examples
We understand that normal wear and tear is part of living, so minor signs of use are completely acceptable, as long as there are no major marks or scratches. Our goal is to ensure a fair and transparent process, making your move as smooth as possible.
